Welcome to Nursery
Some of you may not be aware that we have a wonderful purpose built Nursery on our school site. We offer morning and afternoon sessions for children aged 3 and above and provide a fantastic setting, staffed by experienced teachers and support staff, for your child to learn in.
If you're contemplating sending your child to our school then getting them started in our Nursery would give them a great platform to succeed in their learning. If you want to come and have a look inside our school and meet some of our staff then please don't hesitate to get in touch and arrange a visit.
Nursery children start at 8.40am then they will self register by finding their own name. They can then choose from our fantastic range of resources linked to the weekly topic. After the class register, children then take part in a whole class numeracy session focussing on number skills, shape, space and measure.
The second part of the session is focussed on literacy, communication and language developing fine motor skills and talk. Children are given the opportunity for self initiated activities within the classroom and outdoor environment.
At the end of the session children enjoy a story together and sing their favourite songs and rhymes. We then complete our daily dough disco to help the children become amazing writers!
Each day children can choose a story to take home for the night and share with a grown up.
In the meantime, take a look at what our Nursery children have been up to lately...
Our Topic this Term is Colour! The children have really enjoyed reading different books, completing craft activities and working on exciting tasks around our classroom!
We really enjoy baking at school and have been making biscuits, cakes and healthy snacks for special snack each week. We made blue balloon biscuits which were delicious!
Each Friday we take part in Squiggle While you Wiggle! This is an exciting mark making activity where we enjoy using different materials to draw and write whilst music is playing. So far we have used paint, flour, sand and even made a giant firework picture using lots of objects and glitter!
