Our topic this term is "Whatever the Weather". Each week we will be looking at a different kind of weather and doing investigations, art work and reading stories linked to this. In our class we have made a giant pictogram where we are recording what the weather is like every morning playtime. By the end of the term we will be able to see how many rainy playtimes we have had!
Please continue to help your child with their Talking Homework each week - it is lovely hearing their ideas when we talk about it in school and it really does help their understanding and enjoyment of their topics.
At the moment we are recapping the sounds we have learned already in Read, Write Inc so we are not sending new sound sheets home. Please keep practising recognising and writing the sounds already in the folders.
Numeracy homework is sent out each Wednesday and should be handed in to school by Monday morning if possible. As well as this, all children should have a reading book in their bag every day and we would encourage you to look at this each night with your child. Please make a comment in their yellow reading record so that we can get a clear picture of the progress they are making.
PE lessons take place every Monday and Wednesday so please make sure that your child has a PE kit in school on those days. It is easiest to leave them in school, we will send them home every half term to be washed. If your child wears ear-rings it is helpful if you can remove them for PE days as we cannot do this for them in school.
If there is anything you would like to talk to us about please do come in to see us. Either catch us in the playground when you are dropping off or picking up your child or contact the office to make an appointment if you would prefer.
