Now that you have done some research into the Lewis Chessmen pieces it is time to have a go at making one. You can use anything you like for your sculpture (we’d use clay if we were in school). Look at the images again, re-consider which parts you liked and then have a go at sculpting a replica or your own design. If you are doing your own design you might want to sketch your ideas first. I have attached a salt dough recipe for you as this would be a good substitute for clay. If you have some paint at home, you could always paint it when it has dried. I look forward to seeing your creations.
