Well what a day we have had… The children have kayaked, canoed, orienteered and made fires and food in the woods. Miss Miller’s group spent their morning on Derwent water in their kayaks and enjoyed playing lots of games whilst learning to manoeuvre in all directions. The children would like me to add that Miss Miller slipped over and was covered in mud, lots of giggles had by all! Mrs Kenyon and her crew made fires and were building dens, making bread and drinking hot chocolate. Mr Smith’s group were afloat on the water in open canoes and after working hard to paddle to the ‘hand’ sculpture they were miming their favourite pastimes in their canoes; some soon realised that gymnastics would prove pretty tricky – Sadie Collins! My group proved they could read their maps when navigating their orienteering courses around the grounds of Hawse End.
We are now heading in for our evening meal with sticky toffee pudding for dessert and very excited about the 2015 Show Night!
I'll post some photographs after our meal.
We have had a fantastic Show Night and our winner was Rowen Roberts with her singing solo! We were all very impressed. In joint second place were two of our dance troupes who put up two excellent performances! A massive well done to all of the children who produced a performance tonight. They are all tucked up in bed and looking forward to tomorrow.
