Help! I can't open the Friday Fortnightly!
It has been brought to our attention that a number of you find opening the Friday Fortnightly difficult. The document is saved as a PDF file to make this as simple as possible. We can assure you that with most contemporary devices (i.e. smart phones, tablets and laptops) this is possible, providing you have the right software or app. The good news is that this software is usually free! Please try one of the trouble-shooter tips from list below to help you and let us know how you get on.
Help! It won’t open on my i-phone!
Download ‘Adobe Reader’ for FREE from the app store on to your phone. Then click on ‘Open in..’ when trying to open the Friday Fortnightly document and select ‘Adobe Reader’ – it’s a red symbol with a white propeller.
Alternatively, just open it through ‘i-books’ in the same way. This is an app which is pre-loaded onto Apple i-phones (it’s orange with a white book on it).
Help! It won’t open on my android phone!
Download ‘Adobe Reader’ for FREE from the Play Store (or wherever you usually get your apps from) on to your phone. When trying to open the Friday Fortnightly document, select ‘Adobe Reader’ as the app you want to view it in– it’s a red symbol with a white propeller.
Help! I can’t open it on my tablet!
You will need to download the ‘Adobe Reader’ app for FREE and use this as the app to open the Friday Fortnightly document with.
Help! I can’t open it on my laptop or home PC!
Download Adobe Reader from this link… https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
Once this is installed you should be able to click on the Friday Fortnightly and the document will open automatically in this program.
Help! I hate technology and don’t know what you’re on about!
Pick up a copy of the Friday Fortnightly at Reception from Mrs Kennedy or take a moment to read one of the displayed copies around school.
If you experience any difficulties with any of this and are determined to access the newsletter through phone or tablet then please ask for help. There are a number of people in school who will be able to support you.
