More School Sport Week!
An incredible week!
The children of Brampton Primary School have thoroughly enjoyed a week of sporting activities as part of National School Sport Week! Monday 23rd June – Friday 27th June. Everybody at school has really ‘thrown’ themselves into the spirit of the week and our school has been a hive of activity. It is fantastic to walk into the playground and find children involved in all sorts of physical activity! All of the children have tried hard to earn points for their teams, not just for winning but also for demonstrating the qualities of a good sportsperson.
The children have taken part in: football, golf, hockey, cricket, netball, basketball, rounders, dancing, circuits, parachute games, swimming, volleyball and our traditional Sports Day to name but a few of the activities. The children in KS1 have also enjoyed visits from Tony Hopper (ex. CUFC player) and Steve Harrison (PGA Golf Pro.) into school. The children were able to interview both Tony and Steve about their sporting achievements and ask what they might be able to do to, ‘make it in sport,’ when they are older.
Furthermore, we also played a game of, ‘A Question of Sport,’ in one of our assemblies and the children relished the opportunity to work as a team to answer questions about many different sports. Thank you to Mr Armstrong for making this happen.
It is exhausting just thinking about all of the activities the children participated in during the course of the week and I would like to thank everybody in school for making this fantastic week possible. It is becoming an eagerly anticipated week for many of our children, as well as the teachers!
So… The winner of Sports Week in 2014 is Diamond! Well done to all of the children in the Diamond house team. Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald better luck next time.
Please enjoy some photographs of our week.
