Last week (Thursday 16th February), the BPS swimming team travelled to Carlisle for the annual Brampton Consortium Swimming Gala. They acquitted themselves brilliantly and had us all on the edge of our seats watching the action unfold. The team was Tess Percival, Grace Karim, Ellie Reynolds, Jasmine Ealey and Natalie Armstrong for the girls and George Morris, Josh Mallinson, Jamie Barron, Adam McCabe and Ross Aitken for the boys. All of the children swam brilliantly in the heats of their races showing great technique in their assigned stroke. Some children made the final of their race and achieved excellent results: George Morris was 2nd in the 2x lengths front crawl, Josh Mallinson was fastest qualifier in the 1 length front crawl and went on to finish 2nd in the final, Adam McCabe also finished in 2nd place in his final of the breast stroke. Each of these silver medal winning boys went on to come 3rd in the 4x 1 length relay, Ross Aitken joining these boys to make a team of 4. It was a very closely fought race and all of the boys gave their absolute best to achieve their bronze medal.
Mrs Watson and I were very proud of all of the children and the way they conducted themselves at the competition. Thank you to Mrs Watson and the parents for coming to support and cheer the children on. There were lots of croaky voices on Friday morning.
Yet another successful sporting outing for the children of Brampton Primary School!
