Brampton Primary School offers an inclusive education to all children.
We aim to maximise the potential of all our pupils whatever their ability by providing a broad and balanced curriculum. Pupils who are experiencing Special Educational Needs are catered for as individuals, in groups and by whole class approaches with differentiations to meet their needs.
The school policy document establishes the procedure for the early identification of learning difficulties and provides a framework for responses to these problems in accordance with the S.E.N. Code of Practice. Children may experience some Special Educational Need throughout, or at any time during their school career. This policy ensures that curriculum planning and assessment takes account of the type and extent of the difficulty experienced by the child.
Throughout the stages embodied in the Code of Practice, parents are informed and consulted as to the action to be taken. Outside agencies may be requested to advise the school as to the best way forward depending upon the seriousness and complexity of the problem. Brampton Primary School has a co-ordinator for Special Needs who liaises with all relevant agencies.
