VE Day

If you would like to commemorate this special occasion, I have attached some web links and information to provide you with some ideas.

The English Heritage website is a great place to start.

They have a pack to help mark this occasion which includes 1940s inspired activities.  I have attached this below.

English Heritage also have a specific page explaining 9 main things you should know about VE day which is very informative.

The Royal British Legion has produced a VE Day home learning PowerPoint for Key Stage 2 children which is great.  It provides children with an understanding of VE Day and it includes lots of opportunities for discussion.  It also includes some celebratory ideas, including learning the 1940s Lindy Hop dance.

I have also included a YouTube link to a short lesson by Mr T does Primary History and I have attached the resources that you could use.  As always, these resources do not have to be used and printed – a plain piece of paper will work just as well.

If you mark this truly special occasion with your family, it would be wonderful if you could share any photos with us on ClassDojo.
