Home Page

Year 5

This web page has been set up to provide you with Home Learning activities and ideas for you and your child while you are self-isolating or the school is closed.

Your child should have brought the following things home with them:

  • reading book

  • reading record

  • paper based pack of activities

  • their login for TT Rockstars and Spelling Shed (in their reading record).

Each week, you will find work for each area by clicking the different icons. Within each icon you will find instructions, activities and links to work through. It would be great if you would take some photographs of your work and post them on our class Dojo. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with.

The suggested timetable might help you to plan your day. Routine is important for children and having a plan might help with concentration. Remember to take plenty of breaks, drink water and most of all have fun!

Remember... This work is NOT compulsory. If you would like your child to continue with some school work they will find it here but if you are busy doing lots of other things and developing life skills that is good too. As parents, it is your choice as to how much work you ask your child to complete. Printing documents is not essential, children can complete tasks with a pen/pencil and a piece of paper. Thank you, stay safe.
Enjoy your last week of term Year 5!  As well as some of your regular work, look out for some fun end of term activities.  smiley

Suggested Daily Timetable:

Break: Drink some water, have a leg stretch, what about a Jump Start Jonny? Eat a healthy snack.

Literacy and spelling

Lunchtime: Have a break, eat something and get moving.

Reading: Try to keep up with your reading. Use Epic! to find and enjoy new books or click on the Reading Star and try the activities I have put on for you.

Break: Again, have a drink and get moving.

Physical: Get outside and get some exercise if you can (remembering to stick to the rules the government has put in place). Try the activities I have suggested or one of the many movement activities online.
